It's Amore ..... in Venice

We just got back from the first half of our honeymoon in Venice and it was, how do you say?....perfetto. We stayed in a cute little place right on the water and we mostly wandered around, ate gelato, and pointed at stuff.

All the colors were so amazing and I couldn't believe a place like that existed. I felt like we were walking around a movie set.

We found a little gelato stand that sold this amazing chocolate hazelnut flavor that we couldn't find anywhere else, so we came back for more about twice a day. To balance out all that sugar we had a serving of pizza at least once per day as well. Then to balance all that out, we walked the entire perimeter of the islands.

Food. We ate some of the best pasta ever made. I know that I will never be satisfied with another spaghetti dish again. And mozzarella with tomatoes will never be the same. But I think it's still worth knowing the difference.

For our last dinner we found a tiny little place by a bridge with a portly older woman happily cooking traditional Italian meals. All of her menus and signs were hand written and she was so pleasant. I wanted to bring her home as a souvenir/slave to live with us and cook us her heavenly pizza and pasta forever. But I guess Simon will have to live with my cooking background of scrounging around for the cheapest meal on a college budget.

Also worth mentioning:
Kraft decided to call Ketchup "Mato Mato Squiz" in Italy. Probably a smart branding move. Fun to eat and fun to speak.

The gondola ride was a highlight for sure; it was so pretty and peaceful. Simon said that he felt like he was on an episode of "The Bachelor" because I guess they do that one season, and the romance was gone for me, as I thought about all the desperate women throwing their scandalously dressed bodies all over this one equally pathetic bachelor. (Obviously, this is how they get their ratings). But then he said "I love you" and kissed me, and I forgot all about it.

Simon used to tell me, "The unpredictable movement of birds makes me nervous." And he actually did his best to avoid the fowled fledglings at all costs. Maybe he was swooped as a child. A bird could have easily mistaken his towering body for a cedar. But he was a brave little boy and confronted this life fear head on.
This was a major step for him.

And finally, Simon found peace with the birds. Then he felt dirty and had to wash his hands.

Mouwage...Maouwage is what bwings us togethaw today....

We did it. That knot is tied! All the planning and preparation finally paid off. The wedding was beautiful and life has been perfect ever since. It would have been a really lame party if it weren't for all the hours my mom put into it, and all the dolla's my dad contributed to the cause. Mom, Dad, I will buy you the most expensive diapers when you're older, and I'll find the hottest house maids to change them. Thank you.

More photos of the wedding to follow. We haven't received them yet, but we're so excited to check them out!
