The Perfect Tux for the Perfect Beau.

Late one night Simon was surrounded by four little men as they studied his frame in the back room of a tidy shop. They were photographing him from different angles, measuring his dimensions, and taking meticulous notes. Simon was ordering a custom made tuxedo on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Don't be impressed.

The tux came and Simon was not pleased.

Later I strolled Saville Row with Simon in search for something better. For those of you less cultured in fashion, Saville Row is a swanky street in the heart of London famous for upscale suits and tailors.

Still, Simon was not sufficiently inspired.

Where else can you go once you've scoured New York City and London for that perfect tux? There is only one place. Milan, Italy. And yes, he did fly there for this purpose. First, he found the best fashion advisers on the planet. Then he found the tux of tuxes. I won't say where from. I haven't seen it on him yet, but I'm having fleeting fantasies of Brad Pitt's wardrobe from Ocean's Eleven.

Why must he have the best? Is it his drive for perfection instilled in him as a child? Is it his determined one track mind? Does he sleep better at night knowing he made the best choice? We may never know.

But I like to think he foraged an equally exhaustive search for that perfect girl....
